“Desjoyaux is a family-run industrial company based in La Fouillouse.” Jean-Louis Desjoyaux sets the scene: the world’s number 1 in-ground pool manufacturer is committed to its region and its manufacturing processes. For the third generation at the head of the company, persevering with manufacturing in France is a bold move.
A 15-hectare production site. Five hectares of workshops with all the skills required to manufacture an in-ground pool from A to Z. The industrial facilities set up by the pool specialist in the Loire region continue to be the pride of the Desjoyaux family. “Boldness rhymes with industrial risk-taking, which is an incessant part of our DNA. I try to instill this in my employees every day. Staying in France, manufacturing in the Loire and innovating all the time makes us proud,” says Jean-Louis Desjoyaux, head of the company.
We’re going to set up a sorting center for polyurethane and polypropylene materials, which we’ll reprocess to make components for our swimming pools.
And to maintain our leadership, we are investing steadily: “25 million euros have been committed to the current site, and a further 20 million will be invested over the next four years to increase our production capacity, further automate our plants and create a sorting center for polyurethane and polypropylene materials, which we will reprocess to manufacture components for our swimming pools. This also means creating new jobs in-house,” explains the CEO.
Some forty active patents
Desjoyaux’s industrial boldness goes hand in hand with its policy of innovation. The company holds some forty patents.
“A 26-strong R&D team is constantly working on around a hundred applications. We’re filing fewer patents than at one time, but the company still files one or two patents a year.”
2,000 dealerships in America
Desjoyaux’s integrated industrial strategy and innovation offensive, coupled with increasingly hot summers all over the world, are boosting sales. Well established in France (180 exclusive sales outlets, with a further 20 to open by 2023), Desjoyaux is now looking for growth levers in the United States. Our Atlanta subsidiary is aiming to open some 1,000 exclusive concessions in the U.S. and as many in Brazil, still supplied by our La Fouillouse industrial site,” confides Jean-Louis Desjoyaux. It will take time, between ten and fifteen years, but we have the time. And we have a solid business model.
